What this prompt does

Most "north star metric" advice hands you a generic pick — MRR, DAU, whatever the last book said.

This prompt instead tests candidate metrics against your own history to see which one actually predicted revenue movement, and rejects the ones that just correlate with your gut feeling. For founders juggling 2-3 metrics they've heard are important. You walk away with one named metric, backed by your own past data, or an honest verdict that you don't have enough history yet to know.
